Dear All,
Happy Earth Day! Can you believe that we've been celebrating Earth Day for 50 years? In the face of this pandemic, I feel especially grateful for the respite of nature. Being able to step outside and see the flowers in my garden and the wildflowers in a local park has helped me remember that we will get through these daunting times. I hope you and your loved ones are well.
We are excited to celebrate our 10th anniversary this year. We are so grateful for all that you have done to make this project a success. I've heard from several people that being able to do a pollinator count while sheltering in place has been a way to make a small contribution to their community. We thank you.
As a parent and teacher, I want to recognize all the hard work that has gone into keeping our children learning. If we can help by sharing curriculum or if would like to see if we can arrange a time for me to Zoom with your students, please get in touch. We have lots of projects we have done with K-8 students and would love to share.
Bee well,
Gretchen
The Queen Bee
PS Isn't this a gorgeous bee?! It is a Habropoda on the early spring plants of California Cynoglossum grande (Western Houndstongue). Thank you to the photographer, Hartmut Wisch.
